The Disadvantages that Rural Life Can Present
Those living in rural, isolated areas of Guanacaste, further away from educational institutions, are less likely to be aware or informed about the opportunities of life that are more evident and promoted in more developed urban areas. Many primary schools are understaffed and chronically underfunded, which can lead to feelings of frustration and contempt towards the education system. Students may feel that further personal investment in the education system will be of no benefit to them.
