Criminal Background Check Requirement

As we are a nonprofit organization that primarily works with children, we require all Abriendo Mentes volunteers, interns and staff (regardless of specific position) to provide us with a criminal background check as part of our application process. We will send you information on how to complete this process using our screening vendor at Coeus Global upon your conditional acceptance into the program. Volunteers who are citizens or residents of the US are required to pay the $16.95 background check fee plus any additional fees that may apply in their state of residence. Click here for details. Non-US resident volunteers are also required to pay for their background checks via Coeus. Fees vary by country – click here for details. All fees are subject to change. We regret that we are unable to accept any background checks not performed by Coeus Global.
